Understanding the Data

Where does ChurchSalary’s data come from?

ChurchSalary collects data year-round from our online survey so that it continuously updates the database feeding the tool. We also partner with organizations like Barna Group and Clarity Research to reflect the most detailed, up-to-date compensation information available.

With more than 18,000 survey records collected, validated, and analyzed from churches across the country, our data delivers accurate, up-to-date market pricing information for over 15 unique job titles.

Here's a quick snippet of our data collection method:

COLLECT: ChurchSalary collects data from our own National Compensation Survey as well as from  recruited participants through our partnerships with organizations like Barna Group and YP Comp Pros

VALIDATE: Salary profiles are funneled through several layers of filters to keep invalid profiles from getting into our active database. Our partnership with Clarity Research allows us to ensure statistical validity of delivered results.

ANALYZE: Data is structured to create groups primarily based on church budget and size. In addition, criteria such as position, experience, education, geographical settings, etc. are analyzed and presented in the report.

DELIVER: Insights specific to customer’s needs are presented on our easy-to-use salary tool and criteria can be easily adjusted to generate a custom report.
